Susannah has lived in Claygate for 20 years and in that time has done much for the community. Susannah was on the Flower Show committee for 12 years; she's done a lot for Claygate's Green Belt; and she is now the chair of the trustees for Claygate Youth and Community Hub, putting in 20 hours of voluntary work each week. She does a lot of the unseen, boring work and The Hub wouldn't succeed without her. Susannah has supported Katie Holmes both at work and personally to enable her to do the job that she does. Susannah is driven—a force of nature—determined and as well as being the nicest, most generous person. She really deserves this award.
SUSANNAH’S WORK WITH THE HUB MAKES HER A WINNER
Susannah Moffatt, a driving force behind the village’s Youth and Community Hub, has been awarded this year’s Brian Rhodes Community Cup.
The cup is awarded by the Parish Council to the individual Claygate resident and/or worker judged to have contributed most to community life and wellbeing in the previous 12 months. And this year councillors chose Susannah for her work with youngsters. The cup will be presented to Susannah at the Annual Village Meeng on March 20 at the Village Hall.
Susannah is Chair of the Board of Trustees and Safeguarding Lead at Claygate Youth and Community Hub, to which she commits roughly 20 hours of her time every week. Widely recognised as someone without whom the Hub would not work, she combines a steely determination to achieve the best for Claygate’s young people with a very generous nature. She previously served on the Flower Show Committee for 12 years and has been a keen supporter of Claygate’s Green Belt.
The Parish Council would like to thank everyone who, by volunteering, contributes so much to village life and it congratulates those nominated for this year's Community Cup. You have all made a huge difference.
And well done to Susannah – thank you for all your service to our community. You’re a most worthy winner!

NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR COMMUNITY CUP AWARD
Village Association launches biggest ever survey of people’s opinions in Claygate
The Brian Rhodes Community Cup is awarded annually to an individual adjudged to have made an outstanding contribution to the Claygate community in the previous 12 months. Parish Councillors vote by secret ballot on the nominations and the winner is announced at the Annual Village Meeting, which this year will take place on April 11 at Claygate Primary School.
The council is now calling for the people of Claygate to nominate their candidates for this award. To nominate someone, you must live or work in Claygate and you can nominate more than one person.
The nominee must live or work in Claygate and must have given permission for their name to be put forward and publicised.
Nominations, which must include an explanation in no more than 50 words of how the nominee has made an outstanding contribution to the community in Claygate in the past year, should be sent in an email to the Clerk before 5pm on March 27, at clerk@claygateparishcouncil.gov.uk. Please note: sitting Councillors at Parish, Borough and Surrey levels are not eligible for nomination.
