A Community Garden for Claygate: The Committee’s approaches to The Crown Estate about two plots of land on Coverts Road were not fruitful. Instead, the idea of a community garden is being pursued with BT, the leaseholder of the Exchange site in Hare Lane.

B – There is currently no new movement with the Community Garden. The Crown Estate has rejected our request to use the Coverts Road plots. ACTION – Cllr Bray to write to Telereal Trillium Ltd to ask them to consider enabling a Community Garden in front of the BT Exchange in Hare Lane, which they own.

October 2024

To receive a report from the Environment & Sustainability Group and agree appropriate actions—to include discussing a community garden and whether a grant can be obtained for this and to contact the Crown Estate about the land.

There is to be a Green Elmbridge networking event at the Holy Trinity Church Hall on Wednesday November 20th. Peter Stevenson will put together a budget for this event (to include hospitality costs) and send it to the Clerk to be approved at the next main Council meeting.
